Kasih Ibu General Hospital on Bali

Kasih Ibu opened its doors on the 11th of October 1987 as a maternity in order to provide a high level of service for soon-to-become mothers in a safe environment. Private hospitals were still very few in Bali and the opening of such private maternity by Dr. Suanda Duarsa, SpOG was a real innovation. The clinic had 15 beds available at that time.

Two years later, as the clinic was already enjoying a real success, another 3 bedrooms were added.

At the end of 1992, only six years after its first opening, Kasih Ibu received the authorisation from the minister of Health to become a private General Hospital and hence was able to provide a far wider range of medical services to the population in Bali.

The years have passed and Kasih Ibu General Hospital Denpasar has kept developing its premises, facilities and services according to its patients needs. As an example, in 2003, Kasih Ibu became the first private General Hospital in Bali to offer radiology diagnoses with an MRI (and it still is the only one on the island as of today).

The constant thrive for improvement and pursuit of excellence has brought

Kasih Ibu General Hospital Denpasar to become in the meantime one of the best referred health centers in Bali both for the local poputation but also for expatriates and tourists.

In October 2006, Kasih Ibu in its efforts to not only improve its medical services, received the ISO Certification ISO9001:2000 (certification for international standardisation in management quality).

In order to provide a standard of treatments and services particularly suitable to international patients, Kasih Ibu also launched its international division back in October 2007. Its International ER and Alarm Center teams are available around the clock. The Alarm Center is composed of a native Japanese and English speaking staff who are all solely dedicated to assist international patients with their questions, registration, hospitalization, insurance handling as well as in the event of evacuation/repatriations.

Kasih Ibu General Hospital is currently renovating the entire hospital and expanding once again so that by mid-2011, 84 beds (incl. 9 in the ICU division) will be available.
